House museum opens in Enfield

A museum opening event is to be held in Enfield this October.

This event is ideal for those who love history, or curate an interest in older style homes. The Martha Parsons Museum will feature a tour of the old New England home. There will be guides present each step of the way to offer helpful information, and recount the history of the Parsons family and their subsequent generations. The house features remodeled antique furniture, portraits, and a similar setup as the original homestead. Patrons can look forward to engaging storytelling about the life of Martha Parsons, famous businesswoman and female Hall of Fame inductee.

Martha Parsons was born the youngest of three sisters, and at just 23 years old, became an employee of the corporation Landers, Frary & Clark. This decision at the time was unconventional, but soon proved fruitful when she was named executive secretary, becoming the first woman in the state to earn a business executive position on the basis of merit alone. She has since then become an icon for independence and feminism. Martha Parsons held her position until her retirement in 1912.

The event is free to attend. Printing services can offer innovative ways to advertise events such as this one.

The museum opening will be held on October 9 at the location 1387 Enfield Street, Enfield, Connecticut, 06082. The event begins at 2pm and ends at 4pm.
