Fire safety and cat care among October event themes

There are notable events coming up over the next two weekends in Enfield.

This Sunday, October 7, as part of the Scitico Fall Fest, there will be a free day for child safety. The day goes from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the Scitico Plaza for what will be the 16th year of the Fall Fest.

The fire department of Hazardville will bring a fire truck, CT Chip Org will provide ID kits, and the fire department of Shaker Pines will check the safety of car seats. The state department of corrections will bring a K-9 unit. The department of transportation and state police will also provide their own booths.

The weekend after, on October 13, the Community Cat Project of Enfield is holding a fundraiser from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. It will take place at 93 Park Avenue in the Mt. Carmel Society.

Cats n' Cocktails is the theme for this year. There will be food and drink, raffles, and door prizes, and Tyler Pettibone will provide music. Tickets are $30 at the door on the day, or $25 if attendees preregister one of the 200 spots available. Cat food donations are appreciated and make attendees eligible for a Visa gift card raffle for $50. Interested parties can use ECCPevent@gmail.com to buy tickets via PayPal.

EECP is a nonprofit community based organization. More than 1,000 people work with the groupto care for feral, abandoned, and homeless cats in the town.
