The 2021 Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be held in Enfield next month. Locals are encouraged to participate to raise funds in support of research conducted by the Alzheimer's Association.
The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is held annually to raise awareness and financial support for those diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer’s. Monies raised are tax-deductible donations, used to fund research for prevention and treatments of the disease by the Alzheimer's Association. The goal for this year’s walk in Enfield is to raise $82,500. Supporters may join individually or as part of a team, and may walk in person or virtually.
During the 2.5-mile trek, participants in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s will carry a Promise Garden Flower. Walkers carrying blue flowers have been diagnosed with dementia or Alzheimer’s, while purple flower holders have lost someone they love to the disease. Participants holding yellow flowers are caregivers for those living with the disease, and orange flower carriers are supporters of the search for a cure. Participants who raise at least $100 will receive a Walk to End Alzheimer’s T-shirt to wear at the event. Professional printing services are usually asked to create branded merchandise like shirts, beverage cups, and hats for events and causes like this.
The 2021 walk will be held on Sunday, October 3, starting at the Enfield Town Green, located at 820 Enfield Street. Registration begins at 8:30 AM, followed by a ceremony at 10:00 AM, and the walk begins at 10:30 AM. Registration Forms, donation Forms, and contribution tracking Forms are available on the official walk website, or by contacting Graham Kobs at gwkobs@alz.org.
