Two Enfield high schools have ranked in the top 30 in the state.
A yearly list of the best schools in the nation and each state, compiled by U.S. News and World Report, has come out for this year. Enfield High School came in 30th place while Enrico Fermi High School achieved 26th place, although the later shut down at the end of the last academic year.
Third place went to Easy Granby High School while second went to Weston High School. New Haven's Amistad Academy ranked first in Connecticut and 20th best in the country.
U.S. News also ranked schools by gold, silver, and bronze medals. Gold medals were given to 8 schools, 24 received silver medals, and another 8 in the state received bronze medals. With almost a quarter of the state’s schools earning silver and gold medals, Connecticut ranked fourth in the nation against the other states.
Data from over 20,000 high schools comes with the annual high school ranking report. Schools on the list must prove they are working on the success of every student even if they are not planning to go to college, and must be performing better than the statistics say they should with the number of disadvantaged students. At least three quarters of the students in ninth grade four years ago must be graduating.
The community may want to know how the schools did. Newsletter printing companies can Print and send them to the students' families.
