The administration released a statement detailing the dedication each employee has at JFK Middle for enriching student lives and providing an education.
John F. Kennedy Middle School was the second junior high school in Enfield. It opened in 1969 to accommodate the growth in population from the decade. At this time, Enfield had gone from a small community of farms and 15,000 residents to a small but booming city with over 45,000 people.
The school received additional students when Koscuiszko Junior High School closed in 1982. In 2011, the school added sixth grade students to enrollment, making it an official middle school. Junior high schools normally start at seventh grade, while middle schools start at sixth grade.
