Enfield school administration undergoes changes

The Enfield School Board has named Christopher Drezek, the current Deputy Superintendent of Schools, as the new superintendent for the district.

The appointment became official at a meeting on April 4 as part of a vote by the Board of Education. Current superintendent Jeff Schumann announced at the beginning of the month that this academic year will be his last at the local school district. Two other administrators have been promoted within the school system and will start their new positions in the beginning of July after schools let out for summer vacation.

Drezek became the Business Manager for Enfield public schools 13 years ago. He took a leave of absence to work for the Wethersfield school system but returned in 2010 as the director of human resources. He became the deputy superintendent in 2012.

The new deputy superintendent will be Enfield High School principal Andrew Longey, who has a diverse history in teaching and administration. Replacing him as the principal of Enfield High School is Erin Clark, who also has taught in the past and has been the Enfield High School assistant principal for three years.

With all the appointments, many people are leaving and entering administrative positions. In acknowledgement of their efforts, a banner printing company could help make a piece for each person, or a large card for everyone to sign.
