A local theater will host a live production of a musical this February.
The title of the play is ‘The Bridges of Madison County’. It tells the story of an Iowa housewife and her ephemeral romance with a traveling photographer. The tale is often cited as one of the greatest romantic Broadway musicals of all time.
The original plot comes from a 1992 novel of the same name by Robert James Waller. The story also has a full-length feature film starring Meryl Streep and Clint Eastwood. Since its initial adaptation to Broadway in 2014, it has garnered two Tony awards. This production will feature music by Jason Robert Brown.
The play is an effort by the Opera House Players, a local hub for musical theater and the performing arts. The venue has been a staple in the community for over 50 years.
The cost for tickets to the event will be $25 for regular admission, while seniors and students will pay $21. These are available for sale on the event’s website. Poster printing and other Forms of printed media can offer useful information at events like this.
The play shows from Friday, February 10 until Sunday, February 26. The Opera House Players is located at 124 North Maple Street, Enfield, Connecticut. Start times will vary each day and can be checked on the website.
