Enfield High girls succeed in sports
Recently, Enfield High School girls’ sports have enjoyed good seasons in the areas of basketball and field hockey.
In the latest field hockey season, the Eagles ranked fifth in the state with 15 votes against one. Enfield had a 75-9 season scoring margin. The rank was determined by the responses of state coaches in field hockey through a poll, with Glastonbury recording the highest number of votes at 16.
Meanwhile, the week of January 12 through 16 is halfway through the season for the girls’ basketball, and the team for Enfield High School will be at The Hoophall Classic during that time.
Sixty of the best teams in the United States compete for five days each year in Springfield College, where basketball got its start. On that Friday, the girls’ teams will play five games at Blake Arena. Enfield will face Braintree at 6:00 pm, the third game of the day.
Enfield had one of their best seasons last year with a 25-1 record. They were undefeated until facing Notre Dame-Fairfield in the NCCC semifinals with a final score of 60-55.
This is a special celebration for Enfield High School. To commemorate such a strong year in sports, the school could have memorabilia printed for parents, staff, and students. Items could include pencils, mugs, custom pens, shirts, and printed calendars.
