What's Happening in Enfield, CT…

Enfield event to celebrate multiculturalism

The Heritage Fair event will return to Enfield this March, aiming to celebrate the cultural diversity of the Connecticut community.

The event invites local businesses as well as clubs and groups to exhibit cultural goods and practices from around the world. Items on display typically include crafts, maps, photographs, and textile goods. There will also be live performances of songs and dances representing different traditions.

Past festivals have included everything from martial arts demonstrations to historical reenactments, with applications welcomed from the Enfield community. Event organizers have emphasized the multicultural mission, stating:
“The fair is a wonderful opportunity to come together in a spirit of unity and appreciation.”

The festival is hosted by JFK Middle School, with an emphasis on students and members of the school community as well as the wider Enfield environment. The festival will also feature food samples and hands-on activities aimed at a young audience. Cultural events like this often use methods like displays or brochure printing to help provide education on different traditions.

The Heritage Fair was revived in 2023 by Key Initiatives to Early Education, or KITE, as part of its mission to increase educational opportunities for young children, and is currently held on a biannual basis.

The 2025 Heritage Fair will take place at JFK Middle School in Enfield on the morning and afternoon of March 29.
