For Enfield residents who are looking to do a good deed this holiday season, the Little Sisters Of The Poor at St Joseph's Residence are hosting their annual Turkey Drop in a few weeks’ time.
This is an event where the Sisters will be accepting donations of turkey and candy to help feed themselves and their elderly residents in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Currently, St. Joseph's Residence is housing 85 elderly residents who are unable to afford typical care and housing. Most of these services are offered by the Little Sisters of the Poor, which is a support branch set up almost 200 years ago. At St. Joseph's in particular, the elderly residents are offered nutritious meals, plentiful activities, medical services, assistance with daily living, a caring and dedicated staff, and the care and presence of the Little Sisters themselves.
Those interested in making a contributing can stop by 1365 Enfield Street with their donations on Saturday, November 20 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Those who are unable to donate any food can contribute in other ways, such as by printing out the event's flyer, which can be found at the event listing on Patch.com. Sometimes organizers of charitable drives like this use flyer printing services to help distribute Flyers it to their local area.
