Enfield branches out with fundraiser
The Enfield Food Shelf and the Women’s Club of Enfield will once again be partnering for their Tree-Mendous Holiday Celebration fundraiser, featuring raffles and holiday displays.
Unlike previous editions of the fundraiser, this year’s event will be held across a single weekend. The events will kick off with a special preview on the Friday night, where visitors can browse the different displays, including intricately decorated trees and wreaths, while enjoying drinks and hors d’oeuvres. The opening night will also feature special raffles and a silent auction to help raise funds for combating hunger in the Enfield area. Attendance is free, and visitors are encouraged to drop in for as much or as little time as they can.
The Saturday event will run throughout the day, featuring activities aimed at families and children as well as a chance to bid on displayed items. This year’s events will take place at a new location in the Enfield Elks Lodge. The trees and wreaths will be among the items auctioned off, saving the need for holiday decorating.
Since beginning in 2016, the Tree-Mendous Holiday Celebration boasts of raising money to provide over 125,000 meals to those in need. Fundraisers like this, often promoted through poster printing and word of mouth, are a popular way to give back around the holiday season.
The 2024 Tree-Mendous Holiday Celebration will take place on December 6 and 7 at the Enfield Elks Lodge #2222.
