EHS names its yearly honorees

Enfield High School has named graduation honors for the 2018 class.

The valedictorian is Aurelie Barry. As a member of the Schools Association of Connecticut, Barry manages workshops in leadership for those of her age and students in elementary school. A former National Honor Society president and part of the Youth Council for Enfield, she took part in the Youth Vote. During her junior and sophomore years, she acted as class secretary.

In addition, she spent her high school career playing soccer for the girls' team where she earned the Junior Varsity Captain spot in two seasons. She has 14 years of dance experience at Riley's School, and will be going to Boston's Emmanuel College to study Health Science.

The salutatorian is Jason Chen, who is also part of the National Honor Society. Each year of high school, he has earned high honors. Excellence in French and Chemistry are some of the multiple awards he achieved in various departments, especially in his math classes.

As part of the French Honor Society, he is an active volunteer and works with programs in community service like the food pantry. Chen played volleyball for two years and plans to get a degree in Chemical Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Enfield High School or the parents of the honored students could hire a banner printing company to make a congratulatory banner.
