EHS graduating class of 2017 honoraries named

Enfield High School has named the salutatorian and valedictorian of the 2017 graduating class; Alexander Salisbury and Brian Ruel were named for the respective honors.

Both students received multiple high honors; Salisbury earned the AP Scholar Award from the College Board and the Eastman Award given by Rochester. Ruel also received an award in honors and advanced placement academics and a letter of commendation from the National Merit Scholarship. Both are accomplished in French, with Salisbury being a member of the French Honors Society, and both students receiving honors program and upperclassmen awards in French.

In the summer, Salisbury attended a seminar at West Point Military Academy. He is also an accomplished student-athlete, having been selected for multiple highly academic sports teams in the state and going to the finals for some. Ruel is an accomplished and award-winning wrestler, and consistently writes essays on various topics such as politics, government, philosophy, and film.

Salisbury will pursue a major in Nuclear Engineering this fall at MIT, while Ruel will pursue a double major in Philosophy and Physics as a STEM Scholar in the honors program at the University of Connecticut.

A document printing company can create programs for high school graduating ceremonies soon after the valedictorian and salutatorian are named. It can also include their school history and college plans.
