The Connecticut Women's Hall of Fame will have their 23rd Annual Induction Ceremony & Celebration on November 2.
'Women's Wellness: Awareness, Advocacy & Action' is the theme this year. As they do each year, the CWHF will induct their new members Jane Pauley, Rebecca Lobo, and Joyce Yerwood M.D. It will also pay tribute to Women's Wellness Honorees including Karen M. Jarmoc of Enfield. As the CEO of the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Jarmoc seeks funding and political action for education, elimination, and prosecution of domestic violence. She is also on the policy committee of the National Network to End Domestic Violence, co-chair of the State of Connecticut Family Violence Model Policy Governing Council, and member of various other organizations fighting against domestic violence.
Connecticut Women's Hall of Fame executive director Kathryn Gloor stated that women recognized at the event enact change and inspire others to make a positive impact on women's wellness. Some work directly with those affected while others speak to the general public about women's issues. Since it's creation in 1994,112 women have been inducted into the CWHF. They promote the outstanding actions of women and work toward the overall well being of womankind through stories and proactivity.
