An awards ceremony for community policing took place on October 31, recognizing a seasoned officer from Enfield.

Eddie Nuno was one of 15 people across the state, representing various communities and law enforcement agencies, to be honored at the event. He is the representative and liaison of the police department to the Enfield Juvenile Review Board and the Enfield Youth Services Agency.

The community in the Thompsonville area of the town know him well, as he interacts with residents frequently, including participating with youth in their sporting events. He also works with business and proprietor organizations. Furthermore, he is a Field Training Officer, meaning he trains new recruits in a way that demonstrates a positive attitude and diverse skillset.

According to John H. Durham, United States Attorney, Nuno has had several responsibilities throughout the years but he has always demonstrated a dedication to community policing. After 25 years, Durham notes that his values and kind demeanor have not changed, showing that he is committed to the mission of law enforcement.
