Adult book fair to return to Enfield
After a successful first edition, the Outdoor Book Fair for Grownups will return to Enfield this summer, aiming to help adults find their next great read.
The fair will include twenty stalls from local booksellers and independent authors. Participating authors include Katherine Anderson, Susanne Davis and Thomas B. Matthews, giving readers a chance to meet writers and get books signed. There will also be booths from local artisans, bookstores and gift providers, including Book Club On the Go, Jojo’s Cookies and Canales, and Paper Cuts by Chelsea. Visitors will also be able to sample brews from Powder Hollow Brewery and R. Dee Winery, and sip as they walk around the fair or take cans and bottles home.
The event aims to recapture the magic of school book fairs but with books that will appeal to a wide variety of adults. Fairs like this can be a boon to independent authors who often use printing services and the Internet to distribute their work directly. The Fair is run by Book Club on the Go, a Connecticut-based book retailer which also holds regular events promoting authors and literary culture throughout the state. The group will also be hosting a public talk with author Jennifer Givhan in South Windsor on July 29.
The 2025 Outdoor Book Fair for Grown-Ups will take place on the afternoon of July 26 at Powder Hollow Brewery in Enfield.
