Foster parents from Westminster who would like to meet others who also open their heart and home to children in need, while at the same time learning how they can ensure they provide a safe environment, may wish to save the date for an upcoming occasion.
The morning of learning, which is being offered through the support of Foster Source and Maple Star Colorado, will focus on equipping the attendees with knowledge and other tools they can use to keep their home safe. The topics discussed will apply to children from infants up to age 18.
Proceedings will open at 9:00 am with an opportunity to mingle before the educational component of the event begins. A representative of SAFE CARE/Family Tree will facilitate the workshop, and will discuss the services it has to offer. The participants will learn how they can identify and mediate hazards in the home, and will discover new ways to strengthen the relationship with the foster child in their care.
There is no fee to be included in the day’s activities, and childcare will be available to those who need it. Training manuals and other items for an event like this can be sourced from Print shops in the area.
Saturday, April 21 has been chosen as the date for this learning opportunity. It will take place at 11860 North Pecos Street.
