Many Westminster runners will be heading to the All Out Multicourse Productions Annual Polar Prowl in mid-January.
The walker-and-dog-friendly Prowl will feature a USATF-certified half marathon plus a 10k and a 5k.
The fast, flat, two-lap, double out-and-back course for the half marathon begins at the Stenger parking lot, goes south to and on the Van Bibber Creek Trail. After a westbound turn it will go 2.5 miles reaching the first turnaround point. From there participants will head east and return past the northbound section and begin to run the second lap. After the second lap is completed, runners will race to the finish line.
This course is particularly spectator-friendly and groups that attend races like this often get a little banner printing done beforehand to have colorful Banners to wave in support of their favorite racers.
Penguins International, the race's benefiting charity, will be awarding prizes to race participants wearing the best penguin costumes.
Registration for the half marathon will be $80.50 for adults, $64.60 for kids and seniors, $59.30 for adults running the 10k, and $47.64 for children and senior citizens, and $48.70 for the 5k, and $39.16 for kids and senior citizens. Swag will include medals, 2026 race shirts and brag tags for alumni.
The half marathon will start at 9:00 am followed by the 10k at 9:10 am and the 5k at 9:20 am on Saturday, January 10th beginning at Stenger Soccer Complex, 11200 W 58th Avenue, Arvada.
