Westminster enjoys free live music

Westminster folks will be enjoying plenty of live music over the coming weeks.

All are invited to bring blankets and picnics to enjoy live concerts on the lawn every third Saturday.

Presented by Downtown Westminster Business Association, Westminster Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Westminster, the Summer Sounds concert series is in full swing as the Reckless and Blues band performed back on June 20.

Attendees will be treated to soul and funk with Jublingo this Saturday, July 18. A Pink Floyd tribute band, Crazy Diamonds, will follow on August 15. This 10-member group plays entire original Pink Floyd albums like Dark Side of the Moon. The series will wind down on September 19 with Shakedown Street, which touts itself as "one of the world's longest-running Grateful Dead tribute bands".

All Summer Sounds concerts will begin at 6:00 pm and end at 8:30 pm at Aerostat Park, 5750 West Central Street.

Also, local small bands, duos, and soloists are being showcased in Central Square Plaza from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday evenings. The dates for the July concerts are tonight, as well as July 22 and 29. Admission is free.
