Westminster to host talk from software magnate

Television personality and investor Kevin O’Leary is coming to Westminster, with his presentation titled ‘How Entrepreneurs are Profiting from the Secrets of Self-Made Millionaires’.

O’Leary will be discussing topics such as generating a high income on a monthly basis, successfully earning large amounts of money, and protecting money from potentially negative risks such as a changing economy.

O’Leary is a co-founder of the CD-ROM-based software Softkey, established in 1986. Once it acquired several competitors and became a household name, its name was changed to The Learning Company. After that, toy maker Mattel bought it for $4bn at the turn of the century, leaving O’Leary able to invest in a broad range of ventures, and to appear on Canadian television as a financial commentator.

Before becoming a media entrepreneur, O’Leary started his career with Nabisco Foods. Under his leadership, the brand’s biggest cat food brand significantly increased its market share. After that, O’Leary completed his MBA and co-founded the sports television company Special Event Television, which enjoyed moderate success.

The upcoming presentation, the likes of which are often promoted through post printing, will take place at The Westin Westminster on Monday, August 13, from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm. Admission is free and tickets can be obtained through Eventbrite up until August 13 itself. The event is hosted by The Wealth Retreat.
