Westminster is putting on a few races at different lengths for runners in mid-July.
The runs include a 5K, 10K, and half marathon. The events are all outdoors, allowing for the nature of the area to be appreciated. All-Out Multisport Productions is the organizer of the Dog Days races.
All runners start at the city park. There are several turnarounds throughout the course, allowing those participating to see more of the city. One piece everyone will pass by is Big Dry Creek. The longer course will count several other parks among its landmarks, as well as the Community College Open Space. Water will be available every mile to mile-and-a-half, and Porta Potties will be in place every four miles. A majority of the race will run through the Big Dry Creek Trail.
Those that plan to attend should keep an eye on the weather and dress accordingly. A map of the course is also available for people interested in learning more about where they will run.
Runners will get a bib with their number before the start of the race. They must register online for the course they want to run, as well as paying the fee. The bibs will feature the race Logo Design as well as their number.
The half-marathon costs $60 to $80, with the 10K being $40 to $60, and the 5K being $30 to $50. The events take place on July 17. The half marathon starts at 7:00 am, the 10K at 7:45 am, and the 5K at 7:55 am.
