Westminster residents invited to spend morning with the eagles

Westminster’s Standley Lake is home to a family of bald eagles, and the public is invited to come out and get a closer look at these well-known birds of prey.

Once the participants assemble for this family friendly event, they will have an opportunity to learn more about these large raptors, as well as their life cycle and their place in the ecosystem they inhabit. After this, the group will head out to the park’s eagle blind, where they may be lucky enough to watch these birds as they go about their daily activities. Booklet printing can be utilized for printing informational handouts that can be given to each of the people who come out to an educational event such as this.

The class is being offered on a free-of-charge basis, but those who are interested are asked to register ahead of time, and they will also need to purchase a day entrance pass or have a park pass. Only 20 spaces will be available, and those who participate are also asked to keep an eye on the weather, and to dress appropriately for the occasion.

The Life and Times of a Bald Eagle activity will take place in Standley Lake Regional Park this Friday, June 2. It will begin at 8:30 am, and more information can be found by visiting the Westminster website.
