Those here in Westminster wishing to celebrate Derby Day may be heading over to the 2023 Denver Mini Derby in early May.
The five-hour event will be a viewing party for the Kentucky Derby, plus a local mini horse race.
Doors will open at 1:00 pm, and a corgi race will begin at 2:30 pm. Awards such as the best dressed and cutest couple will be announced at 3:00 pm, and the running of the Kentucky Derby will be shown live on a giant viewing screen beginning at 4:00 pm. Right after the race, guests will enjoy the Cutest Mini Race, where mini horses and their owners will parade around the track for charity.
The venue will add to the festive ambience with a DJ and live band, an open bar, and plenty of food options including a BBQ. Attendees can get their pictures taken with the mini horses, which could then go to local Print shops to be added to family newsletters.
Early bird infield individual tickets are $59.99 and include admission plus access to the open bar. Second tier admission goes up to $69 at the gate, and third tier will be $79 on race day.
Early bird VIP individual tickets are $119. Second tier VIP will be $135, and the third tier will be $149.00. These will include admission, seating, open VIP-only bar, and the BBQ.
