Westminster celebrates holidays with music

Two holiday music events are scheduled for early December for here in Westminster.

From 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm on Saturday, December 7, the Chamber Music Society of Greater Denver will be presenting Classical Christmas. The ensemble will be composed of Laura Schulkind (artistic director), Hillary Schefter (harpist), Grace Christus (pianist), Christina Krayer (flutist), and Kali Paguirigan (soprano), and will play holiday pieces from other countries. Some of the classical holiday favorites will include those by Tchaikovsky, Brahms, and Schubert, and a Hanukkah musical presentation will conclude the evening.

Classical Christmas will be presented at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3990 West 74th Avenue. Admission is $20.

The Joanna Ramsey Theatre in Westminster High School, 6933 Raleigh Street, will welcome the US Air Force Academy Band as it presents its annual Holly and Ivy concert. The performance will include six teams depicting holiday music from around the U.S. in genres like classical chamber music, pop, big band, and country.

Members of the band will be telling holiday-themed stories and presenting their own arrangements of classic sing-along favorites.

The Holly and Ivy concert will be Saturday, December 14 beginning at 7:00 pm. Although admission will be free, tickets are recommended.

Organizations like these often take pictures of their holiday events to local Print shops to be added to their visitor brochure printing.
