Westminster is home to one of the world’s leading invertebrate research centers, and it is asking for the public’s help in maintaining one of its facilities.
The organization is seeking assistance in caring for its nature trail. The volunteers will work with its horticultural staff, and will help out by pulling invasive weeds and collecting seeds from certain species. Those who come out will need to be able to lift and carry, as well as bend to perform their tasks, and only a limited number of spaces are available.
This opportunity to lend some physical support to Butterfly Pavilion is open to the whole family, and all ages are welcome. It has been organized by Project helping, and once they register, each participant will be emailed more information, including what they should wear and bring along with them, as well as where and when they will meet and the agenda for the morning. Name tags, T-Shirts for the volunteer organizers, and other items for an event like this can be brought in from Print shops in the local area.
Butterfly Pavilion is located at 6252 W 104th Ave in Westminster, and this day of helping it in its efforts to protect invertebrates has been planned for next Saturday, May 5. It is scheduled to begin at 8:00 am.
