Schools to return student belongings

This academic year ended rather abruptly and schools all over Colorado are putting together a plan to let students pick up the items they were unable to clear out of their lockers before schools were shut.

Different school counties will be implanting different plans for how their students will collect their belongings. Teachers and staff from the Adams 12 Five Star School District went about clearing out the desks and lockers, bagging the contents and labeling them accordingly. Parents in Westminster will be collecting these belongings at the curbs where the schools are located. Every school will be tasked with setting its own schedule for collections.

Christina Dahmen works as the district’s communications manage, and said:

“We have used this curbside process almost since we’ve been under the coronavirus and COVID situation, and it’s just been really positive for us. It’s approved by public health and it’s worked well with our meal distribution.”

Any Bags not collected will be stored at their respective schools until schools reopen and students are able to collect them themselves. Jefferson County Schools are already working on similar plans. Promotional Pens are often given to students to encourage the educational process.

Schools in Denver will be using a mixture of different methods to return student belongings. Officials are still finalizing their plans, but it is expected that the collection process will be pushed back until fall.
