Quartet of events gets summer rolling

Summer here in Westminster will get underway with the Block Party, annual Father Daughter Ball, Public Domain Theater Festival, and Heart of Historic Westminster history tours.

A Summer Block Party will kick off the season on June 3 beginning at 6:30 pm at Bradburn Boulevard and 73rd Avenue. Westminster Public Schools will provide a free dinner and kids can enjoy fire truck rides, jumping castle, and other activities. At dusk the giant outdoor screen will show Disney’s “Soul.”

On June 18, the City Park Recreation Center will hold its annual Father/Daughter Ball. The evening will have a butterfly kisses theme and all adult/child couples are invited to attend. Guests can enjoy dancing, dessert bar, horse-drawn carriage rides, and complimentary photographs. Tickets cost $25 per person.

Pictures from events such as this often find their way to local Stationery printers to be added to family Calendars.

For June 11 through 12, and 17 through 19, three Colorado theatre companies – The Catamounts, Su Teatro, and Buntport Theater - will each present 20-minute public domain work original adaptations in designated outdoor spaces within Westminster Station Park. Tickets are $20 and performances will begin at 7:00 pm.

Finally, Westminster History Tours will begin its season on June 11 with the Heart of Historic Westminster. The tours will begin at the MAC, stop for one hour at the Bowles House Museum, showcase Bradburn Boulevard homes, and end at 73rd Avenue.
