Many novice Westminster runners will be looking forward to a range of running events coming in January, allowing them to build up their distances.
The Six Pack Series has been designed to enable entry level runners to build up stamina and strength to complete a full 10k by running, walking, or jogging one mile in the First Event, and adding a mile in each succeeding event until they reach 6.2 miles. Progressive distances, including 5k and longer, will cost $145.
Those who complete each of the six races will receive differently colored collectible Pint Glasses with the Six Pack Series graphic design on them. White long-sleeved technical T-Shirts featuring the green 6PKRNR license place graphic design will go to those registrants signing up for all six events. Those completing all six events will receive Series Finisher’s novelty license plates to take home as a memento of the event.
The series’ charity partner will be Growing Home, an organization working with a two-generational approach to alleviating poverty. Participants bringing in-kind donations will get race vouchers or raffle prizes.
All runs – including the First Event on January 7, the two-mile or 5K on January 21, and the 5k only on January 28 – will take place at Promenade Terrace, 10600 Westminster Boulevard. Races will begin at 9:00 am. The other three races have been scheduled for February.
