New details have been revealed about a plot of farmland being converted into a new neighborhood.
The 230-acre site used to be known as Rose Hill development, but will now be referred to as Uplands. Information on the developer’s website states that the development will be a community of pocket neighborhoods. They will be built on farmland lying close to the Westminster Castle.
Some people who already live in the area have raised concerns about the development. They feel that it will bring noise and congestion to an area known for its rural feel and grassy views. Carl Widmark, who lives right next to the plot of land being developed, said to The Denver Channel that he was worried about overdeveloping what he decribes as “a wonderful land.”
An official from the City of Westminster stated that the project is still in the early stages of review. The planning development and city council expect to look over the plans for zoning changes submitted to public meetings expected to be held at the turn of the year. Those plans are likely to be submitted with official Letterheads.
More information about Uplands can be found on the developer’s website, which shows that there are plans for a small retail center and design plans for the houses that will allow residents to keep their mountain views.
