The Adams County COVID-19 Short-Term Rental and Mortgage Assistance Relief Fund has been created to help residents cope with the pandemic.
According to officials, the fund is designed to give people who are close to being evicted or foreclosed access to mortgage assistance and rentals. Applicants in Westminster who meet the requirements and wish to apply for this fund can submit their applications at the Maiker Housing Partners website.
Applicants who qualify will receive the funds according to who submitted their applications first. The applicants must:
- Have a household income that has been negatively affected by the spread of COVID-19
- Be a resident of Adams County
- Have a household income that is 20% less than the average income for the area
Any applicants who do not meet the above requirements but still need assistance could be able to get aid from Temporary Assistance for Needy Families or another source of federal funding by applying for them with Maiker Housing Partners. The Adams County Found could be able to support residents who are not able to access federal funds. Donations and Corporate Gifts can help people get through tough times.
The county’s manager is Raymond H. Gonzalez. He said:
“The negative impact this crisis has had on our communities, and especially our most vulnerable residents, is significant and will only continue to grow.”
The grant was funded to the tune of $300,000 and the community is working to secure more funding.
