December brings winter celebrations to Westminster

December in Westminster will see Christmas tree lightings, a special holiday luncheon, and a Winter Solstice Celebration brought to its residents.

Westminster Historical Society will present its annual Home Town Christmas, which will kick off the holidays with lighting the state’s tallest living Christmas tree, carolers, vendors, and of course, Santa.

Pictures with Santa may be taken to local Print shops to be enclosed in family newsletters.

Home Town Christmas will take place Friday, December 1st, from 6:30pm to 9:30pm at Fireman’s Park in Historic Westminster.

The next evening, Intermountain Health will have its annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony featuring tree lighting, music, food, and Santa. A kid-size train and full-size sleigh will be available for pictures.

This Holiday Lighting Ceremony will be on Saturday, December 2nd from 5:30pm to 8:30pm at Westminster City Hall.

The MAC will be having a Holiday Luncheon from noon to 1:45pm on December 7th. Brisket, rolls, side dishes, and desserts are on the menu, and music will be provided by Gregg Green. Tickets will be $25.

Santa will be available for visits and pictures on Saturdays December 9th and 16th, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, at Westminster City Hall Plaza.

Celebrating the lengthiest night of the year, a Winter Solstice Celebration will offer crafts, activities, giveaways, holiday shopping, and live music. A festive photo booth will also be available.

The free Winter Solstice Celebration will be December 17th from 11:00am to 6:00pm at the Legacy Event Center, 9051 N Harlan Street #300.
