Day of helping planned for Westminsters Butterfly Pavilion

Westminster is home to a world class invertebrate research, education and conservation facility, and it is seeking the public’s help to get ready for the winter season.

The Butterfly Pavilion has put out a call for volunteers to help put its gardens to bed for the winter. Those who come out to lend a helping hand will assist in loading up mulch into wheelbarrows and then spreading it on the different garden beds to help protect the plants form harsh winter weather. The tools, gloves and other equipment that will be needed to complete the work will be provided, and the organizers have planned for it to be an event that will be fun while at the same time, it will do a good turn for the local community and the environment.

The organizers noted that this activity is open to anyone over the age of six, and all help will be appreciated. It will take place rain or shine, but if the weather is especially cold or very wet, it will be rescheduled to a more suitable day. Flyers that promote an event like this can be both designed and printed by a local printing company.

November 11th has been chosen to be the day for this activity, and it is set to begin at 9:00 am. It will take place at 6252 W. 104th Avenue in Westminster, and Project Helping’s website contains additional details about the day.
