The Westminster Legacy Foundation will be holding its yearly awards ceremony, and the Foundation is looking for nominations from the local community for this year’s winners.
Anyone is allowed to nominate organizations, businesses, and individuals who they feel are worthy of winning this year’s awards. Previous winners include Vi June who was Westminster’s first female mayor, and Greg Mastriona who is the man behind Water World and several other parks located near Westminster. Award galas such as this one are an opportunity for likeminded individuals to meet up and exchange Business Cards.
Winners will be selected for seven different categories:
- the Nature Environment and Sustainability Award, which can be given to businesses or individuals who have shown a strong dedication to maintaining nature in Westminster
- the Arts and Culture Award for the best representation of art
- the Corporate Citizen Award for companies that show strong support for the local economy
- the Citizen of the Year Award which goes to a local who has worked to improve life in the community consistently over the past year
- the Young Citizen of the Year Award for an individual under 21 years of age who has committed to serving others in the community
- the Health and Human Services Hero Award for those who have touched the lives of others in the community through advocacy or volunteering
- the Nancy Heil Lifetime Achievement Award, which is the most prestigious award from the Foundation
The Community Awards Breakfast will be held on April 30, and nominations must be received by January 31.
