There is a huge variety of summer camps available in Longmont this year.
The Longmont Museum recently announced many of their most popular camps will be available this summer, offered in a format that complies with health regulations and ensures that all attendees will be safe and healthy. They plan to conduct the camps either in spacious classrooms that allows participants to remain separate, or outdoors. Virtual camps are also available, and masks will be worn by both campers and their parents when they come to drop off or pick up their children. Other safety regulations, such as not sharing food and drink, will also apply.
The list of available camps is amazing, ranging from children’s theater to surviving zombies to basic science. The Urban Wildlife Explorer is typical of the adventures participants can expect.
The Urban Wildlife Explorer is an outdoor camp where participants will be able to learn about the scaly, feathered, and furry creatures living in Longmont. Campers will examine their habitats and learn their behaviors and adaptations. They will also test for pollution in local waters and are warned things will get messy. Organizers of events like this can turn to Print shops for assistance in creating needed course materials.
The Urban Wildlife Explorer is set for June 7-11 and is the first camp on the schedule. The complete list and details are on the museum’s website, and registration is now open.
