There can be something special about holiday decor made by hand, and a Longmont workshop series will teach how to prepare an assortment of pieces to keep or gift this season.
Reprising an event that has proved to be popular in previous years, Longmont Museum will be offering a three-part Holiday Gift Making workshop as part of its Studio Series taking place on Tuesday mornings. The participants will work with a variety of materials.
Learners will be crafting both gifts and decor, and hand-carved Stamps are just one of the projects they will undertake. These can be used to make handmade gift wraps, and felted saps and ornaments painted by hand will also be on the list of make-and-takes. Julie Benoit will serve as the instructor for the three sessions, and they are intended to be joyous experiences for those who take part.
Many communities offer special crafting classes in the lead-up to the winter holiday season. A brochure printing company can be called upon to prepare local guides to mail out to area households to keep them abreast of what is going on in their own hometown.
These holiday-themed crafting classes will begin on November 3, continuing on November 10 and 17. All of them run from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. The Downtown Longmont website provides more details.
