There will be a solar garden tour taking place in Longmont this June, organized by Colorado Agrivoltaic Learning Center.
Individuals are invited to join a knowledgeable expert from the Colorado Agrivoltaic Learning Center, in a guided tour of Jack's Solar Garden. This research site stands as the largest of its kind nationwide, showcasing the integration of solar energy and agriculture. Throughout the tour, the guide will provide information on the various plots devoted to agrivoltaic research. By the end of this experience, attendees will have gained a deep understanding of the numerous benefits associated with agrivoltaics – meaning use of land for both agriculture and solar power generation.
The cost to attend the event $35, or free for under 18s. Individuals of all ages can attend, and must register before 5:00 pm on June 9 via Eventbrite. If an attendee needs to cancel they can send an email to tours@coagrivoltaic.org.
Money raised from the event will help to bring students to the solar garden with aims of helping them become more knowledgeable about cultivation practices, food in the local area, and clean energy. Brochure printing can help organizers to provide attendees with take-home information at events such as this one.
The tour will be taking place on Saturday, June 10 from 10:00 am to 11:15 am. It will be located at Jack's Solar Garden, 8102 North 95th Street, Longmont.
