The Bee Hugger Farm is hosting the Alcapones, a seven-piece band that is based in Boulder, and is noted for their original rock steady, reggae, and ska music. A review by William Baumgartner in the BolderBeat said the band offers:
“. . . driving rhythms, delirious horn harmonies, and pointedly silly/ridiculous/wise singalong songs. The group is relentless in their determination to have as much fun as they possibly can, and to make sure their audience feels as much a part of the madcap show as the band itself.”
The Bee Hugger Farm is a family-friendly facility where people can pick sunflowers, feed animals, visit a pumpkin patch, and buy honey. The concert is a fundraiser, but the charity that will benefit is not known—it will be chosen at the event.
Organizers note that the guidelines in place with regard to health and safety at the time of the event will be followed. People are encouraged to pack-in/pack-out their belongings, and to bring food, drinks, and friends, as well as more prosaic items like chairs and blankets.
People are encouraged to carpool, and well-behaved children are welcome to attend, but dogs should be left at home, and there is no smoking at the venue. The concert is set for September 11 from 6.00 pm until 10.00 pm, with doors opening at 5.00 pm. Flyer printing can be used to advertise local events like this.
