Half marathon fun run keeps Longmont active
Runners and beer enthusiasts will unite in the coming weeks in Longmont as a local brewery is pairing with organizers to promote a fun run event.
The 2025 Left Hand Half Marathon and 5K Fun Run will kick off soon, allowing area runners the opportunity to dust off their favorite shoes and stretch their legs for a good cause. The run will utilize an out-and-back course that follows the St. Vrain Greenway before returning to the starting point.
Interested parties are also able to sign up for a 5K fun run, which will feature a mostly flat trail. Elevation gains will peak at 300 feet, and participants are welcome to run, jog, or walk the course. A water bottle or hydration pack is recommended for Longmont residents interested in joining the fun.
Registered runners for the half marathon will find aid stations every 2 to 2.5 miles along the route for water refills and restroom access. Upon crossing the finish line, participants will receive a complimentary beer and other promotional products to commemorate their efforts. The registration costs also cover a commemorative short-sleeve shirt, a medal for finishing, and access to the post-run event.
