Classes in martial arts scheduled

Martial arts classes are on the schedule in Longmont, with a twist—they are for kids.

Easton Training Center is the organizer as well as the location of upcoming summer camps for youngsters interested in martial arts. Experienced instructors will teach Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to kids who are sure to be enthusiastic about the classes.

Muay Thai comes from Thailand and is a kickboxing style that helps to improve balance. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a martial art based on grappling with one’s opponent and helps build body awareness and coordination. In addition to helping youngster learn new physical skills, the camp emphasizes the traditional values of martial arts: confidence, self-discipline, and respect.

In addition to learning martial arts, the camps will comprise many games and drills facilitated by the coaches. Also, a special activity will be part of each day, and every activity will be different. Flyer printing can be used to provide schedules for activities like this.

Both full day and half-day camps are available. Full days are from 9.00 am until 3.30 pm, and half-days are from 9.00 am until 12.00 pm. Parents can also register their kids for an entire week, or just one day. Children should bring appropriate play clothes, and parents should provide snacks for any children with special dietary needs.

The first camp of the summer is scheduled for June 7-11 and is for children ages 3 and older. Easton Training Center is on Wedgewood Avenue.
