Next month, the TUC-COM Community Heroes 5K run is set to continue in Vallejo.
A chapter of the Touro University California College of Osteopathic Medicine, the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS), organized the 5K race as a fundraiser for the Fight Back Partnership. The partnership’s mission is to combat poverty throughout Vallejo and the rest of Solano County through utility, housing, food, and educational resources and assistance.
Registration for the 5K run is priced at $25 per person.
The race will take place as a casual virtual event that participants can complete whenever and wherever within a time period of seven days. The run is superhero-themed, and participants are encouraged to dress themselves as their preferred hero, although this is not a requirement for participation.
Vallejo participants who will be tracking their progress or sharing photos and videos of themselves in their costumes can join the event Facebook group. To be eligible for a prize for finishing in the top three places, runners may use a phone app to track their times. The top three finishers and the top two winning costume owners will each receive $20 gift cards. Flyer printing is a way many event hosts favor as an easy, cost-effective method of distributing informational handouts to participants.
The TUC-COM Community Heroes 5K race is scheduled to take place on Thursday, April 1 and Friday, April 2.
