Brad Paul has been named as the interim director for Economic Development for Vallejo.
Paul has been deputy executive director for Local Government Services with the consolidated Association of Bay Area Government (ABAG) and Metropolitan Transportation Commission staff and deputy director and acting director of the ABAG. His responsibilities in these roles were to supervise important programs in the region, including the Bay Area Regional Energy Network; San Francisco Estuary Partnership; and the Bay Area Housing Finance Authority.
Paul expressed his excitement about taking this position, as Vallejo has many assets to offer to new businesses and existing ones looking to expand. He said that Vallejo is in a good position to grow given its waterfront location and historic architecture in addition to its string pipeline of talent from Solano Community College, Touro University, and Cal Poly Maritime Academy. He added that Vallejo is attractive to businesses for investment.

Andrew Murray, City Manager, said that Paul has a deep understanding of regional economic development and extensive experience and expressed his excitement to have him leading the department. He added that Paul is an ideal person for this position as he will strengthen ties with the broader community of the Bay Area while a strong Economic Development Department is being built and the search for a permanent director continues.
