Planning Manager promoted to Community Development Director
After conducting a recruitment drive that spanned the nation, the City of San Rafael has the pleasure of announcing its new Community Development Director to replace the retiring Paul Jensen.
Alicia Guidice will start her term on 1st June. She will be bringing 25 years' experience gained in the private sector and local government. This is a promotion for Alicia who will continue to serve as the City’s Planning Manager until Jensen officially retires. New business cards are often printed for people starting new jobs.
Jim Shutz, the City Manager, said:
Alice is fluent in English and Spanish. She has an undergraduate degree in City and Regional Planning that she obtained at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and is certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners. Her job experience has included being at the head of teams and putting together a wide range of intricate development projects. She also has experience putting together policy documents for land use, traffic, and other infrastructure and utility projects.
Jensen, the outgoing Community Development Director, gave his support to the city’s pick to replace him. He feels that she has a lot of passion for her work and the community will benefit from her forward thinking.
