Youth in Arts will hold a family-friendly fundraiser for its educational programs at the San Rafael Elks Lodge in October.
Brush with Fame: A Costumed Fundraiser is an event where people can support youth programs while enjoying live performances and participating in a costume contest. Guests are asked to dress up as their favorite artist, musician, or dancer for the event. People can also make costumes inspired by works of art and songs. The KoolWhip Band will provide entertainment for the evening. There will also be a grazing table and mocktails at the venue.
Youth in Arts is an organization that works with schools to provide art programs for children. The group has created several programs, including Artists in Schools and Arts Unite Us. Students can display their pieces at the organization’s gallery and participate in intensive arts mentorships where they can make art alongside professional creators. Taylor Buttrey is the group’s executive director. He went to the Academy of Art University and has worked with organizations like Public Allies.
The fundraiser will be on Friday, October 24th from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm. Tickets will cost $175 per person, though discounts are available to those who purchase their admission by September 1st. Sponsorships for the event will start at $500 and will include perks like a wine tasting experience and recognition on social media. Groups in charge of similar fundraisers can use banner printing to highlight their sponsors.
