Seth Meyers is a graduate of Northwestern University, where he majored in television and film production. While he was in school, he started performing improv comedy with the Mee-Ow Show, Northwestern’s sketch group. His talent for comedy won him a spot in the cast of Boom Chicago, an English-language comedy group based in Amsterdam. One of the shows Meyers developed for Boom Chicago was presented in Chicago, where talent scouts from “Saturday Night Live” saw him and asked him to audition.
Meyers joined the show in 2001 and was both a writer and actor. From 2006 to 2008, he and Amy Poehler were the co-hosts of the program’s satirical current events sketch “Weekend Update,” SNL’s most popular sketch. He impersonated numerous celebrities and political figures during his tenure including Tom Cruise, Ty Pennington, and John Kerry.
In 2014, Meyers became the host of “Late Night,” taking over from Jimmy Fallon who moved to “The Tonight Show.” Meyers’s contract to host the show runs through 2028.
In addition to television, Meyers has hosted high-profile events such as the Emmy Awards and the Golden Globes. A review of Meyers live performance says:
“. . . he delivered a night of laughs with excellent efficiency.”
Seth Meyers will be at the San Diego Civic Theatre on Friday, November 20. Events like this benefit when planners use poster printing to create advertising for them.
