Sarah Millican, an English comedian, won the “Best Newcomer” award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2008. In 2013, Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour named her among the UK’s 100 most powerful women. She married Gary Delaney, a fellow comedian, that year.
Millican’s career started with her prize-wining appearance at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where she presented her show, “Sarah Millican’s Not Nice,” in which she used her divorce from Andrew Millican as material. In 2009, she again turned to the difficult relationships between men and women for material for her Fringe show, which won rave reviews. The Stand Comedy Club was the setting for her 2010 Fringe production, “Chatterbox.” It garnered a nomination for the main Edinburgh Comedy Award, though the prize went to Russell Kane.
Since beginning her career at the Fringe Festival, Mullican has made countless television appearances on panel discussions and specials, hosted her own programs, provided voice work, and appeared on BBC’s Comedy Relief 2015. A review of her performance says:
