Melissa Etheridge is a guitarist, singer and songwriter who earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Vocal Performance, Female, for “Bring Me Some Water,” the lead single on her 1988 debut album “Melissa Etheridge.”

She released “Brave and Crazy,” her second album, in 1989, and got another two Grammy nominations. She won the award in 1992 for the lead single “Ain’t It Heavy” from “Never Enough,” and finally broke through with her fourth album, “Yes I Am.” A single from the album, “Come to My Window” earned her her second Grammy and was certified 6x Platinum. Her tour mate, Jewel Kilcher (just “Jewel” in her billing), is a poet, songwriter, singer, and activist. As of 2024, she has sold more than 30 million albums throughout the world, and won four Grammy nominations. Her debut album, “Pieces of You,” is one of the best-selling debuts of all time, rating 12X Platinum. A review says:
