Master guitarist to visit San Diego
A renowned guitarist will perform soon in downtown San Diego.
Steve Hackett is a native of Pimlico, a Central London district, and is best known for his 1971 to 1977 stint as lead guitarist for Genesis. He contributed to one Genesis EP as well as seven singles, three live albums, and six studio albums. In 2010, when he was still with Genesis, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
In 1975, still with Genesis, he dropped “Voyage of the Acolyte,” his first solo album, before leaving the band in 1977 to focus on his solo efforts. He released several solo albums, then he and Steve Howe created the supergroup GTR in 1986. They dropped their self-titled album, which climbed to No. 11 on the Billboard 200 chart. The track “When the Heart Rules the Mind” became a Top 20 single. In 1987, Hackett left the group, which disbanded, and he went on to release albums and tour worldwide regularly.

“Very enjoyable show. This was my fourth time seeing Steve Hackett. I will definitely see him again the next time he is in town. I love watching and listening to him play electric guitar.”
