Tribute show rockets to Downtown San Diego

A tribute to a fabulous rocker by a rocker chosen by the star himself is on the way to San Diego.

Scotsman Rus Anderson, who was chosen by Elton John himself, is bringing “The Rocket Man Show” to the Balboa Theatre. Anderson worked as the official body double for Elton John on numerous projects during the “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” world tour.

Anderson was performing his “The Rocket Man Show” live, which brought him to Elton John’s notice. The megastar himself has now hired Anderson to recreate memorable moments from his career, and his tribute show has been featured regularly on some of the most famous stages in the world, from opera houses to rock clubs.

Anderson has paid close attention to Elton John, and his show features the spectacular, colorful costumes that are a hallmark of the singer. These include the jumpsuits, glasses, and boots of the 1970s, plus the glittering Swarovski tuxedos of the 1980s, some of which Elton John wore at his concerts.

But beyond the flamboyant costumes, Anderson has captured the spirit of young Elton John; his energy, and drive, vocalist, diva, piano master, and all-around rock and roller. Jimmy Fallon says:

“Rus as Elton John is AMAZING!”

“The Rocket Man Show” blasts into the Balboa Theatre on April 6. When venues book a show like this, they often advertise it with colorful, eye-catching Posters, which they can have created at local Print shops.
