Built to Spill first got together in Boise, Idaho, in 1992. Doug Martsch, who had been with Treepeople in Seattle, handled the duties as lead vocalist and guitarist, with Ralf Youtz on drums and Brett Netson on bass and guitar. They dropped “Ultimate Alternative Wavers,” their debut, in 1993, and joined the Lollapalooza Tour in 1995.
In 1997, they had their major label debut with “Perfect from Now On,” on Warner Bros., which represented a major breakthrough for the group. They continued touring and released “Ancient Melodies of the Future” in 2001; “You in Reverse” in 2006; and “There Is No Enemy” in 2009.
Martsch's concept was to rotate band members with each new release, and he has done so, making each performance fresh and unique. Flyer printing can provide advertising handouts that work well for events like this.
A review of a Built to Spill concert says:
“Amazing. The best rock and roll band. BTS forever. . . . Been listening for 25 years and it’s incredible how current and relevant this music is to this day. . . . ”
Built to Spill will be at the Music Box in San Diego on November 8 at 7:30 pm. The venue is small, and is a standing-room-only spot, unless otherwise indicated. This performance was rescheduled from an earlier date.
