Legendary blues guitarist coming to San Diego
One of the greatest blues guitarists working today is coming to San Diego.
Joe Bonamassa was born in New Hartford, New York, and began performing as a child, opening for B.B. King by the time he was 12. Although he liked Blues masters like Robert Johnson and T-Bone Walker, he listened to Rory Gallagher, Jeff Beck, and Eric Clapton much more often. The influence of these European artists led Bonamassa to take a more rock approach to the Blues.
Bonamassa released his first album, “A New Day Yesterday,” in 2000. Critics liked the album, which made it to No. 9 on the U.S. Billboard Top Blues Albums charts. The album contained covers as well as original music.
His next album, “So, it’s Like That” appeared in 2002, and is one of the few releases that features all original material. This effort was an even bigger success, reaching the top spot on the U.S. Billboard Top Blues Albums chart. A prolific songwriter and recording artist, Bonamassa has released a total of 16 studio albums to date, dropping the latest, “Blues Deluxe Vol. 2,” in 2023. A concert review says:
Joe Bonamassa will be at the San Diego Civic Theatre, located in downtown San Diego, on November 5. Concert organizers will often promote events like this by contacting printers who use poster printing to create advertising.
